Don’t let the match start while your decoder says “Your subscription has expired”. You can renew DStv or GOtv online in about a minute, from your phone, for yourself or for family anywhere in Nigeria.
This guide shows you how to renew your current package, how to switch to a different one, and what to do if your channels don’t come back after you pay.
What you need
- Your smartcard number (DStv) or IUC number (GOtv). It’s on the sticker under or behind your decoder, and on the card inside it. You can also see it on screen: press the Menu or Info button on your remote.
- A BillBoxs wallet with money in it. You can add money by card, bank transfer or USSD.
How to renew your DStv or GOtv, step by step
- Open BillBoxs and tap TV. New here? Create a free account first.
- Choose DStv or GOtv (Startimes works the same way).
- Enter your smartcard / IUC number and tap Check. We show the account name, your current package and, where available, its renewal price. Check that the name is right.
- Choose what to pay for. Tap Renew to keep your current package, or pick a different package from the list.
- Confirm with your PIN. The subscription goes through straight away in most cases, and your receipt is saved in History.
Tip: Keep your decoder switched on (not on standby) while you pay and for a few minutes after, so the signal that switches your channels back on can reach it.

Renew vs change package: what’s the difference?
- Renew pays for the package you already have. It’s the quickest choice and keeps everything the same.
- Change package moves you to another bouquet, for example from GOtv Jolli to GOtv Max. Your new channels appear once the change goes through.
If you want a bigger package for one month only (say, for a tournament), you can change package now and change back next month.
Channels not back after paying? Try this
- Wait 5 to 15 minutes with the decoder on.
- Clear the error. MultiChoice lets you send a fresh signal to your decoder: use the MyDStv or MyGOtv app or website and choose the option to fix errors, or follow the on-screen help on your TV.
- Restart the decoder. Switch it off at the wall for a minute, then on again.
- Check the number. Open the payment in History and make sure the smartcard / IUC number matches your decoder.

Never miss a renewal again

The subscription goes to that decoder. That’s why we show you the account name before you pay. If it happens, contact support straight away with the reference.
Can I pay for Startimes too?
